”The Cosmic Egg”
1m 8s
This finely carved container made of brown jasper gives the impression of being the universal matrix discussed in theories of the cosmic egg, although it does not fit neatly into any of them. The red egg displayed within is carved from rhodonite, also known as hermannite, and features a winged being with an elongated skull. In its right hand, it holds a mysterious bag known as the bag of the gods, while in its left hand, it cradles an egg like the one described. From the lower extremity of this being, a rhomboidal texture emerges, giving the egg the appearance of a pineapple. With the carved representations on this container and its lid, each person can formulate their own cosmological theory. Currently, this piece is undergoing study, and so far it has been observed to exhibit the phenomenon of luminescence.
